Supervision

What is supervision & why is it needed?

Supervision is a process of professional learning and development that enables individuals to reflect on and develop their knowledge, skills, and competence.

Supervision is an essential aspect of ethical practice for counsellors and serves as a valuable resource.

It provides supervisees with the opportunity to reflect on their work and the influence they have in their professional relationships. Additionally, supervision offers a safe space to discuss sensitive issues that might otherwise become overwhelming, playing a key role in supporting the emotional well-being of the supervisee.

The supervisee should feel confident in the supervisor’s ability to guide, support and gently challenge in an ethical and non-judgemental environment

Supervision with me

I am a qualifed clinical supervisor, and I offer a warm and compassionate space to explore your client work to gain a more in-depth understanding of self, client and the work. I can provide 1:1 face-to-face counselling supervision in Newquay or online supervision for wider Cornwall and across the UK.

My aim is to support and empower the supervisee in developing and enhancing their client work using the Seven Eyed Model and IDM model of supervision. These models allow me to focus on many aspects of the therapeutic relationship, empowering the supervisee and ensuring that the supervisee / supervisor relationship is collaborative, reflective and supportive.

I offer supervision to both qualified and trainee counsellors and adapt my practice to how the supervisee likes to work and what they need.

I work within the ethical framework of the BACP to ensure professional and safe practice.
